Portlands Gas Plant Pollution Forum
The Ontario Clean Air Alliance (OCAA) is hosting a forum to discuss the health risks associated with the pollution created by the Portlands Gas Plant.
The forum will feature several speakers including Paula Fletcher, Toronto-Danforth City Councillor, and Peter Tabuns, MPP for Toronto-Danforth. Dr. Mili Roy from Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment (CAPE) will address the health impacts of the gas plant. There will also be a discussion about current and future community actions around the proposed gas plant expansion on Toronto's waterfront with local organizers.

For more technical info, read the OCAA letter to the CEOs of the IESO, Toronto Hydro and Hydro One, requesting information about Toronto’s existing and forecast electricity demands and our options for meeting our future electricity needs (e.g., demand management, energy efficiency, local electricity supply and storage). Toronto has many clean, renewable options for meeting all our electricity needs without the polluting Portlands gas plant, including rooftop solar, off-shore wind, and energy conservation.
